Before you run Setup

A compatible adapter is essential. The application does not add a wireless radio to an Ethernet-only PC or include a separate internet subscription.
Keep the right platform in mind
The current release does not promise Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, Vista or XP support. For an Android or iPhone hotspot, use the relevant phone settings instead of this Windows installer.

Yes. The current 8.1.0 release is free to download and use. Your existing internet provider or mobile data plan can still charge for service.

Do I need an existing connection?
